    1979 Bacon Bowl – As a public defender, with the promise of police protection, Steve agreed to play quarterback for the SC County Law Enforcement Team in the 1979 Bacon Bowl against the Monterey County Law Enforcement Team. All proceeds from the game went to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
